    Customer Feedback Form Generator FAQ

    How is NPS calculated?

Percentage of 9–10 answers minus percentage of 0–6 answers.

    Does the form store answers?

No – it posts to your handler or form service.

    How short should it be?

Under a minute: three to five questions.

When should I send a feedback form?

Shortly after a meaningful moment: a few days after delivery, after a support ticket is closed or after the first month of using a product. Asking too often lowers response rates.

    Feedback forms customers finish

Send feedback requests soon after the experience, while it is fresh.

Short feedback forms get more answers. A rating, one Net Promoter Score question and one open question (“what could we do better?”) already tell you how satisfied customers are, how likely they are to recommend you and why. Add the customer effort question when you want to know how easy a specific task was, such as checkout or support.

Net Promoter Score asks how likely someone is to recommend you on a 0–10 scale. Scores of 9–10 are promoters, 7–8 passives and 0–6 detractors; NPS is the percentage of promoters minus the percentage of detractors. Track it over time rather than comparing it with other industries.

Ask for permission before contacting someone about their feedback – the generated form includes that checkbox. The JSON description of the fields helps you store and validate answers on your server, and the form works with keyboard and screen readers because every input has a proper label.
