Organization Schema Generator FAQ
Where should Organization markup go?
On the home page or the about page. One block per site is enough; other pages can refer to its @id.
What logo size works?
At least 112 × 112 pixels, on a plain background, as a crawlable image URL.
Is it a local business?
If customers visit a physical location, use the Local Business Schema Generator instead.
Where do I put the code?
Paste the script element into the HTML of the page it describes, in the head or the body. CMS platforms usually offer a custom-code or header field for it.
Organization or LocalBusiness?
Use LocalBusiness (or a subtype) for businesses customers visit at a physical location; Organization for companies, charities and online businesses.
Your organisation, clearly described
Search engines build a picture of each organisation from many sources. Clear markup on your own site – name, logo, profiles, contact details – is a strong, direct source for that picture, and is used for the logo and knowledge panel details in results.
Keep the information consistent with what appears on your site and your profiles; contradictions make the markup less trustworthy.
Organization markup describes your company or organisation – name, legal name, logo, contact details, address, founding date and the profiles that belong to it. Google can use it for your knowledge panel and to understand which social profiles are official.
Choose the most specific type that fits, such as Corporation, NGO, EducationalOrganization or OnlineStore. The sameAs list should contain your official profiles (LinkedIn, Facebook, Wikipedia if you have an entry), and the logo should be a square-ish image of at least 112 × 112 pixels on a public URL.
Place the markup on the home page or the About page, keep the details identical to those on your site and in business directories, and update it when the address or contact information changes.
